SAINT LOUIS, MO- Looking to get back on the winning track, the Hornets traveled to William Woods University to take on the Owls. WWU took the first two games of the series by final scores of 3-2 and 6-0.
GAME ONE: HARRIS-STOWE (2) WILLIAM WOODS (3)
After the Owls plated two runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning, Harris-Stowe came back in the top of the 3rd with a run when Tony Montano (SR/San Jose, CA) singled to right field and drove Cole Danielson (JR/Palm Springs, CA) home.
The Hornets would tie the game up at 2-2 in the top of the 6th when PJ Roberts (SR/Watts, CA) singled to shallow center field and sent Montano across the plate.
William Woods didn't let the tie last long. In the bottom half of the 6th, Patrick Dillon doubled to deep left field that brought Nolan Aherin around the bases for the eventual game winning run.
Tanner Disibio (SR/San Jose, CA) got the start for game one going 6.0 innings with five strikeouts.
GAME TWO: HARRIS-STOWE (0) WILLIAM WOODS (6)
HSSU was held scoreless in the second game while collecting just three hits in the game.
William Woods collected runs in the 3rd, 5th, and 6th innings to claim the 6-0 win.
After today, Harris-Stowe moves to 28-20 overall and 13-12 in AMC play. They will be back in action tomorrow to play in the final game of the series. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
