CONWAY, AR- Errors were to blame today as the Hornets dropped both games to the Mustangs of Central Baptist College.

Harris-Stowe scored their only run of the game in the top of the 1st inning when Mallory Pappert (SR/Affton, MO) singled to left field and drove Ariel Lipe (SR/Ellington, Missouri) home.

Central Baptist answered back with six runs in the bottom half of the inning and another 10 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning to take the 16-1 win.

Courtney Norris (SR/St. Louis, Missouri) got the start in game one pitching 4.0 innings.

The Mustangs took advantage of the six errors committed by HSSU. CBC went on to score all 13 of their runs in the bottom of the 1st inning.

Harris-Stowe got on the board in the top of the 3rd inning after Kyrah Johnson (SO/Columbia, Missouri) singled to the infield and sent Adrianna Nelson (FR/Memphis, TN) and Ariel Lipe across the plate.

The Hornets would plate two more runs in the top of the 4th when Sophia Chamberlain (JR/Bakersfield, CA) hit a two-run homerun of the season over the center field fence to cut Harris-Stowe's deficit to 13-4.

HSSU would not be able to send anyone else around the bases and dropped the second game of the series.

Sophia Chamberlain got the start for game two and went 4.0 innings and struck out 3 batters.

After today, Harris-Stowe moves to 6-19 overall and 2-16 in AMC play. They will be back in action on Friday when they host the Eagles of Williams Baptist College. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Moody Park.
