SAINT LOUIS, MO- In the third game of the series with Missouri Baptist University, Harris-Stowe battled with the Spartans until the end, but MBU came out on top with a 4-2 win.

MBU put themselves on the board in the top of the 1st inning when Domonique Hernandez scored on an error committed by HSSU.

The Hornets got their run back in the bottom of the 2nd inning when Brendan Claus (SO/Wentzville, MO) hit his first homerun of the season over the left field fence to tie the game at 1-1.

The Spartans flexed their bats in the 6th inning when Mason Washington and Roosevelt Henderson hit solo homeruns to go up 3-1.

MBU would plate one more run in the top of the 7th when Wayne Roberts scored on a throwing error by the HSSU infield and extended their lead to 4-1.

Harris-Stowe recorded one more run in the bottom half of the inning when Tony Montano (SR/San Jose, CA) homered over the center field fence to cut the Hornets deficit to 4-2.

HSSU wouldn't get another chance to make a comeback as MBU's pitching limited the Hornets offense in the final two innings.

Stephen Wells (JR/Orlando, FL) got the start for today going 7.0 innings with four strikeouts. Tyler Boles (JR/Clarksville, TN) finished the rest of the game with no hits and one strikeout.

After today, Harris-Stowe moves to 28-17 for the year and 13-10 in AMC play.  They will be back in action tomorrow when they travel to the University of Missouri-Saint Louis. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
