COLUMBIA, MO- Harris-Stowe today against the 8th ranked offense of Columbia College. The Cougars took both games by final scores of 17-0 and 15-6.

GAME ONE: HARRIS-STOWE (0) COLUMBIA (17)

Columbia took complete control in game one, scoring 15 of their runs in the first two innings of play.

HSSU was held scoreless and hit-less through the five inning game.

GAME TWO: HARRIS-STOWE (6) COLUMBIA (15)

The Hornets came back in the second game and stunned the Cougars with a 6 run inning in the top of the 3rd inning.

Caitlyn Chandler (FR/East St. Louis, IL) was the first to score when she crossed home plate after a Columbia error. Cassidy Williams (JR/Olive Branch, MS) gave the Hornets their first lead of the day with a grand slam over the left field fence to make it a 5-2 game. Courtney Norris (SR/St. Louis, Missouri) would be the final HSSU player to score when she came home after Sophia Chamberlain (JR/Bakersfield, CA) reached base on another Cougar error.

Despite a 6-2 lead, the Cougars offense could not be stopped as they plated 13 combined runs in the 3rd and 4th innings.

After today, Harris-Stowe moves to 4-13 overall and 2-10 in AMC play. They will take a break from conference play and travel to Principia College for a DH starting tomorrow at 6 p.m.
