SAINT LOUIS, MO- In their biggest game of the season this far, the Hornets came through and defeated the Eagles of Williams Baptist College 95-71 to be named the 2018 AMC Conference Tournament Champions for the second year in a row.

Six different Hornet players reached double-figures tonight; Deandre Clark (JR/Orange, VA) led all scorers with 20 points while Christian Wimbley (JR/St. Louis, MO) was right behind him with 19 points on 9-10 shooting. Nate Rigmaiden (JR/St. Louis, MO) (12), Dwane Miner (SR/Gates County, NC) (10), Altez Davis (SR/Danville, IL) (10), and Samuel Egedi (SR/Milton Keynes, England) (10) were the other HSSU players to contribute double-digit points.

Devante Carolina led the Eagles with 16 points. Briheam Anthony chipped in 15 points while Shackeel Butters added another double-double to his collection, scoring 15 points and pulling down 14 rebounds.

WBC jumped out to an 11-4 lead after just three minutes of play.

Harris-Stowe would go on a 16-3 run to to pull ahead of Williams Baptist. Miner capped off the run with a second chance lay-up to force WBC to call a timeout.

HSSU's lock-down defense combined with their stellar offense pulled away from the Eagles late in the first half and would get up by as much as 23 before the half.

The Hornets never let the Eagles back into the game. HSSU would extend their lead to as much as 30 in the second half before being crowned the AMC Conference Tournament Champions for the second consecutive year.

With the win, Harris-Stowe moves to 23-10 overall and receives an automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament in Kansas City, MO next week.
