ST. LOUIS, MO- After a five set victory over St. Louis College of Pharmacy, the Hornets volleyball team looked to add to their conference wins list with an upset over Lindenwood-Belleville. However, errors by HSSU and the precise hitting of the Lady Lynx lead to their victory in three sets (21-25, 21-25, 15-25).

In the first set, Harris-Stowe held their own, keeping themselves within reaching distance of LU-B. Towards the end of the set, the Hornets found themselves down 20-13 and would rally back to make it 24-21. But, a kill from LU-B's Allanah Renner ended the set and gave the Lady Lynx a 1-0 lead in the match.

The Hornets came out strong in the second set, trading points with the Lady Lynx and keeping it close. HSSU fought until the very end, but it was Lindenwood-Belleville who came out on top with another 25-21 win and took a 2-0 lead in the match.

LU-B took total control in the third set. The Lady Lynx took advantage of the Hornets 11 errors in the set and countered with 14 kills to take the set 25-15 and win the match in straight sets.

Miaya Peacock (SR/Champaign, Illinois ) lead the Hornets with 11 kills and 8 digs. Akliah Thomas had herself a night with 7 kills while Kennedy Netters (SR/Peoria, Illinois ) handed out 27 assists.

The Hornets will be back in action on Tuesday when they host the Stars of Stephens College. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
