ST. LOUIS, MO- Just as it looked like St. Louis College of Pharmacy was about to make a comeback, the Hornets came from behind to take the match 3-2 (25-23, 15-25, 25-23, 20-25, 15-9).

The first match was a struggle for either team to run away with the game, neither one gaining more than a 3 point lead. Harris-Stowe would get a big confidence boost when Miaya Peacock (SR/Champaign, Illinois ) slammed one home in between all 6 STLCOP players to take the first game 25-23.

Peacock lead the way for HSSU recording 25 kills and 22 digs, both match highs. Kennedy Netters (SR/Peoria, Illinois ) kept her hands hot tonight handing out 49 assists while Latiyanna Burns (SO/East St. Louis, IL) chipped in 11 kills. Ayla Dew (JR/Champaign, Illinios) also made a dent in the statsheet tonight picking up 12 digs for the Hornets.

The second set did not start out the way Harris-Stowe wanted it to, giving STLCOP a quick 10-4 lead. The Eutectics wouldn't let up at all, forcing multiple Hornet errors to take the second set 25-15.

Cassady Reno lead the Eutectics with 12 kills while Kate Toler picked up a team high 20 digs.

After splitting the third and fourth sets, Harris-Stowe's intensity picked up in the deciding set. The Hornets jumped out to an 11-3 lead to put pressure on STLCOP. While they made a short run, errors kept them from catching HSSU and ulitmately dropped the game 15-9.

After tonight's win, the Hornets are 3-4 for the year and 2-3 in conference play. They will continue AMC play this Friday when they host the Lady Lynx of Lindenwood University-Belleville. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
