ST. LOUIS, MO- After five straight losses and going 0-2 in conferenced, the Hornets found a way to break the spell and pick up their first conference win of the year.

Sanchayn Lawrence (SO/Kingston, Jamaica ) was the hero today as his two shots on goal amounted to HSSU's two goals in the game.

In the 17', Lawrence found himself with the ball bobbling right in front of him after the ball deflected off multiple HSSU and Park players and ripped a shot at the Pirates goalkeeper, Thalu Masindi, which found its way to the back of the net for a 1-0 lead.

Park answered late in the second half when Pedro de Souza found Donovan Morgan and connected for the Pirates only goal of the game.

Just four minutes later, Sergio Pomajambo (SO/Lima, Peru) sent a ball across the box and found a wide open Lawrence who sent the ball past Masindi for a 2-1 lead. It would be all they needed to hold off the Pirates for the remaining nine minutes.

Along with Lawrence's two goals, goalkeeper John Jancewicz (FR/London, England) recorded 7 saves in the game bringing his year total to 41.

The Hornets will be back in action next week when they travel to Maplewood Richmond Heights to face off against fellow St. Louis AMC rival, St. Louis College of Pharmacy. Kick-off is set for 8 p.m.
