BRIDGEVIEW, IL- For the second straight game, the Hornets have lost by a single goal and drop to 1-2 on the season. Two second half goals by Monica Munoz helped Roosevelt to defeat Harris-Stowe today 3-2.

After an early goal by RU, Johanna Wallstab (FR/Munich, Germany ) got things rolling for the Hornets and found Victoria Sample (FR/St. Louis, Missouri ) breaking through the defense to give her a 1v1 against the Lakers goalie, Kara Jones. Sample won the battle and tied the game at 1-1.

Roosevelt came back into the 2nd half sharp, getting back-to-back goals from Monica Munoz in the 60' and 63' minutes to retake the lead at 3-1.

Justice Corn (FR/St. Louis, Missouri ) would cut the Lakers lead to 1 in the 83' when she took a shot after a deflection and put it past Jones. Unfortunately, the Hornet's comeback wasn't in time, and RU took the game 3-2.

Harris-Stowe tallied 15 shots with Johanna Wallstab leading the way with 4. Sample, Georgia Herrington (SO/Milton Keynes, England), and Rachelle Gray (FR/Belleville, Illinois ) all recorded 3 shots while Corn and Willow Liukania fired off 1 a piece. Starting goalkeeper, Camila Chaves (FR/Bogota, Columbia) deflected 7 shots today, 5 of those coming in the first half.

The Hornets will return to St. Louis on Tuesdayafternoon to kick off AMC play as they host the Scots of Lyon College. Kick-off is set for 1 p.m. at Hornets Field.
