DEERFIELD, IL- Coming off an exciting 5-1 win over St. Mary of the Woods, the Hornets traveled north to face the Trojans of Trinity International University. After a back-and-forth game, TIU came out on top with a 3-2 win in overtime.

Harris-Stowe found themselves with an early lead after a corner kick found Lizette Popoca (FR/Waukegan, Illinois ) in the box for her 2nd goal of the year and a quick 1-0 lead.

The Trojans answered back when Rachel Conrady found Kaylee Wallentine diving deep into the box to tie the score a 1 a piece.

Popoca wasn't finished; she connected with the net again in the 54' off another corner kick for her 2nd goal of the game and 3rd of the season.

Trinity International found themselves struggling to get anything past the Hornets defense, going scoreless until the 68' when Jillian Kolster found the back of the net and forced the game into extra time.

Kolster would get the game winner in ovetime when Wallentine found an open Kolster in the box to end the game.

Camila Chaves (FR/Bogota, Columbia) got the start in goal today and recording 7 saves. Lizette Popoca lead the way with 2 goals on 2 shots while Johanna Wallstab (FR/Munich, Germany ) got credited with both assists from the corner kicks. 

The Hornets are back in action tomorrow morning when they face Roosevelt University. Kick-off is set for 11 a.m.
