ST. LOUIS, MO- The Hornets soccer team continues to fight to get out of their scoreless slump as Oakland City University took the game by a final score of 2-0.

Harris-Stowe was lead by Gabriel Green (FR/O'Fallon, Missouri) and Ayobamidele Lapite (FR/Monroe, Louisiana ) who both recorded 2 shots. Nijaz Salkic (JR/St. Louis, Missouri), Adin Mulasalihovic (SO/Janja, Bosnia), and Erick Kayongo (SO/Kinshasa, Congo) all tallied 1 a piece.

Oakland City struck early in the 1st half when Emilio Uzcategui fired off a shot at Hornets goalkeeper, John Jancewicz (FR/London, England). Jancewicz deflected the ball right in front of Nemanja Gvozdic who gave it back to Uzcategui for the first goal of the game.

The Mighty Oaks connected for another goal in the 33' when Jack Cookson and Samuel Joseph set up a give-and-go deep in the box to further their lead to 2-0.

John Jancewicz picked up 10 saves in the game today, 6 of them coming in the 1st half.

The Hornets defense came into the 2nd half fired up. After allowing Oakland City 12 shots in the first half, HSSU held them to only 5 the final 45 minutes.

Harris-Stowe will be back in action next Tuesday as they continue their 5 game homestand and begin conference play against Lyon College. Kick off is set for 3:30 p.m.
