The 2017 Harris-Stowe Baseball team had one of the most successful seasons in the programs history this season and was awarded with a #5 place final ranking for the Black College Nines HBCU Small College polls (http://blackcollegenines.com/?p=8013).  The Hornets finished the season 30-20 with a 15-11 record in the American Midwest Conference.  The Hornets had only their second 30 win season in program history and first since 2005 when the Hornets won 34 games.  The 15 victories in the AMC was good enough for fourth place in the eleven team league and marked the most total victories inside the conference in school history.  Harris-Stowe had a .600 winning percentage which marked the highest winning percentage for any Harris-Stowe team to play a full 40 or more game schedule.
