This afternoon the Harris-Stowe Softball team fell to William Woods University in both games of their rescheduled doubleheader.  The two losses drops the Hornets to 1-23 and 0-18 in the American Midwest Conference. The Hornets will travel to Hannibal-LaGrange College tomorrow for a doubleheader starting at 2pm.


Game 1: Loss 10-0

Ariel Lipe started for the Hornets and allowed 10 runs in 5 inning of work.  She also contributed two hits.  Alix AdamsCassidy Williams, and Courtney Norris all collected a single.


Game 2: Loss 5-1

Courtney Norris started for the Hornets and gave the team an opportunity to pull off their first conference win as she went 7 innings allowing only 5 runs while working around 13 hits.  Emily Lavine scored the only Hornets run on a ball put in play by Daylon Brooks.  Lavine hit a one out triple to right center field to get the Hornets in scoring position for the first time all day.  Nakeyah Bradford and Alix Adams collected hits for the Hornets.


Game Notes:

  • Next game is Tomorrow at Hannibal-LaGrange.  2pm first pitch
  • Emily Lavine is now second on the team with two triples
  • Hornets have been successful on 72.7% of steal attempts this spring
