Harris-Stowe traveled across town yesterday to take on NCAA II opponent, University of Missouri St. Louis.  The Hornets came out ready to play and defeated the Tritons 7-6.  The victory improves the Hornets record to 21-11 on the season and 3-1 against NCAA II teams.  The Hornets were able to bang out only 8 hits but came through in several key spots with runners on 3rd base to score.  Head Coach CJ Bilbrey on the win, "We played well for eight of the nine innings.  Our bullpen was lights out and Sam Simon did a terrific job setting the tone.  The defense let him down in the bottom of the 5th but we did a good job responding.  Jared Corbett had a big hit in the first inning to drive in two big runs early and we responded well after a letdown inning in the field."

Senior Sam Simon started for the Hornets and gave the Tritons issues with his ability to locate his off speed and spot his fastball.  He went 4 and 2/3 innings and allowed earned run while striking out three and allowing only one walk.  Nick Ferraro came in and got out of a bases loaded jam and then threw a shutout inning in the bottom of the sixth.  Dion Herron, Tyler Boles, and David Flores all threw shutout innings to finish the game.  PJ Roberts had two hits with a walk and stole three bases.  Zach Jones collected two hits and an RBI.
