The Harris-Stowe Baseball team defeated the Williams Baptist Eagles 13-7 in a "road" home game at Stars Park on Friday.  Harris-Stowe had to host the Eagles after rain hit the Walnut Ridge Arkansas area.  The victory moves the Hornets to 20-11 on the season and 6-6 in American Midwest Conference play.  The Hornets rebounded after two tough losses on Thursday to salvage the series and keep them in 7th place in the AMC standings.

Steven Kemp started for the Hornets and went 6 innings allowing 3 earned runs with 6 strikeouts.  Tyler Boles came in relief and stopped the Eagles momentum in the bottom of the seventh as they had scored two runs in the 6th and 2 more runs on back to back homeruns to start the 7th.  Boles would go 2 innings allowing 3 hits and giving up no runs.  The Hornets responded with runs in the top of the 8th and 4 more runs in the 9thTyler Schatz went 4-4 with 5 rbi.  Zach Jones and Arsalaan Alvi each had 3 hits.

  • Hornets reached 20 wins for the first time since 2012 
  • Arsalaan Alvi has collected hits in 24 of the 28 games he has played in this season
