Men's Basketball - Sat, Mar. 4, 2017

Today the Harris-Stowe Men's Basketball team will take on the Park University Pirates in the American Midwest Conference semifinals.  The Hornets have gotten to this point by winning 12 of their previous 13 games and beating the Central Baptist Mustangs on the road 83-77.  The matchup against Park will be tough for the Hornets as the Pirates are the only team to defeat the Hornets during their winning streak.  The Hornets are 0-2 against Park this season, losing a close contest on the road 73-71 on January 5th.  The Pirates then defeated the Hornets 80-69 in the Emerson Performance Center with many of the points near the end coming off free throws.  The winner of today's game will advance to the AMC Finals Tuesday night.

 

Key Hornets:

Evans Ganapamo / Senior / Forward

Ganapamo is coming off a 15 point performance in the AMC quarterfinals.  For the season he is averaging 7.4 points per game and bringing down 3.4 rebounds per game.

 

Malik Wineglass / Senior / Forward

Wineglass is averaging 13 points per game in his past 5 games.  He is also leads the team with 32 blocked shots.

 

Craig Davila Jr. / Senior / Guard

Davila has been a spark plug for the Hornets since he returned to the lineup in December.  In his two playoff games as a Hornets he is averaging 16 points per game and while shooting 12-18 (67%) from the floor.

  • Hornets will host AMC Championship Tuesday at 7pm in the Emerson Performance Center with a win and a Missouri Baptist victory over William Woods
