Men's Basketball - Thu, Mar. 2, 2017

Tonight the Harris-Stowe Hornets Men's Basketball team will travel to Central Baptist College for round one of the American Midwest Conference playoffs.  The Hornets enter the bracket at the #6 seed and will take on the #3 seed Mustangs.  Harris-Stowe is 16-12 this season and 14-8 in AMC play.  The Mustangs are 19-9 and 14-8 in the AMC.  Harris-Stowe was involved in a four way tie for third place.  Because of tie breakers the Hornets finished with the 6th seed and will travel to CBC despite going 2-0 against them this season.

Head Coach Brion Dunlap knows that his team has a big challenge in front of his team playing the Mustangs two times in the past seven days.  "We are excited to play in the AMC tournament.  To earn the right to play in March is a tremendous accomplishment for any team.  We have a tough challenge ahead of us in Central Baptist College.  CBC is a very well coached team. They play extremely hard, they're and athletic team and they play with an edge.  We are going to have to be laser sharp in our preparation for CBC."

Key Hornets:

Jalen Fletcher / Senior / Forward

Fletcher is the leading scorer and rebounder for the Hornets with 14.5 points per game and 5.8 rebounds.  He shot 54.7% from the floor inside the three point line this season.
