Tonight the Harris-Stowe Hornets Men's Basketball team won its fourth in a row and the fifth out of the past six games with a score of 98-83 over the Lindenwood University Belleville Lynx. The Hornets now improve to 9-11 and 7-7 in the American Midwest Conference. The Lynx drop to 13-8 and 7-7 in the AMC.
The first half was a physical battle for both teams that saw four lead changes and tied up twice. The Hornets trailed by as many as nine and lead by as many as 11. At half Harris-Stowe had a 45-37 lead behind Craig Davila Jr.'s nine points and the effective shooting of the team (20/32 for 62.5%).
In the second half senior Trevor Roberts scored 17 of his team high 20 points to guide the Hornets to a 15 point victory. Roberts finished the game going 4/7 from behind the three point line and would also contribute three assists and four rebounds. The Hornets had a balanced offensive attack that saw ten Hornets score and shoot 59.7% overall from the field.
