Volleyball - Sat, Dec. 3, 2016

The Harris-Stowe Hornets Volleyball team had many positive notes during the 2016 season.  Head Coach T'Shon Young led her team to a 6 more victories than 2015.  The Hornets also had the most amount of victories and winning percentage in the program since 2008. The Hornets were recognized by the American Midwest Conference with their improvement by having 3 players recognized for their performance on the court as well as one more for her efforts in the classroom. 

Miaya Peacock was selected as 2nd team All-AMC.  She lead the Hornets with 291 kills and was tied for second on the team with serving aces.  Her 3.5 kills per set was ranked 5th in the AMC.  Kiarra Herron and Kennedy Netters were both selected as AMC Honorable Mention.  Herron was second on the team with 120 kills and was tied for second with 25 blocks.  Netters led the Hornets with 495 assists in 2016.  She is the first Hornet to have over 400 assists since Lindsey Dirkers in 2009. 

Jhameka Lambert-Gully was honored for her achievements in the classroom.  She was selected to the AMC Academic All-Conference team. To receive the award the athlete must be a sophomore or older in the class room and have an accumulative grade point average of 3.0.
