The Harris-Stowe Women's Soccer team lost today in the American Midwest Conference Quarterfinals today to the number 1 seed Park University 8-1.  The loss eliminates the Hornets from the playoffs and ends their season with an 8-10-1 record. 

Park took an early 1-0 lead as they scored on the 13th minute.  Freshman Georgia Herrington tied the game up 1-1 as she scored on a lose ball while the keeper was outside the box.  The Pirates took the lead back with 6 minutes left the first half and had a 2-1 lead at halftime.  In the second half the Pirates ran away with the game scoring 6 goals in the second half and the Hornets had no response.  

The Hornets under third year coach Scot Vorwold have improved in all three season under his watch.  They will return 14 players next season including goalkeeper Jenna Vitale who recorded 7 shutouts, Samantha Cervantes who is a skilled freshman forward who had 2 goals and 4 assists and Kayla York who plays is one of the Hornets better defenders.  Harris-Stowe's freshman scored 8 goals and  assists this past season.
