Tonight the Harris-Stowe Hornets lost to the William Woods Owls in an American Midwest Conference match in three sets. The loss drops the Hornets to 5-16 on the season and 1-10 in AMC play. The victory moves the Owls to 17-12 and 8-3 in the AMC.
In the first set the Hornets trailed 10-9 when the Owls went on a run to score 10 of the next 13 points. The Hornets fought hard against elimination point but eventually fell 25-19. In set number two the Owls controlled the match from beginning to end and walked away with a 25-16 victory. In set number three the Hornets led most of the match and were up by as many as five. Trailing 20-16 to the Hornets, the WWU Owls came out of a timeout to score 9 of the last 10 points to take the set 25-21 and finish off the Hornets.
