Men's Soccer - Tue, Oct. 11, 2016

The Harris-Stowe Men's Soccer team has seen a turnaround in the past 4 contests to put them right in the middle of the AMC playoff race.  The Hornets are tied for 5th place with 9 points, winning 3 of their previous 4.  Today they will take on the Hannibal-Lagrange University Trojans for an American Midwest Conference matchup which could help decide the playoff race.  The Trojans are second with a 5-0 record in the AMC and 6-3-2 overall.  Game time is set for 3pm, following the women's game against HLG.

 

Key Hornets:

Adin Mulasalihovic / Freshman/ Forward

The freshman has scored 5 goals and 2 assists this fall.  He leads the team with 12 points and he has 2 game winning goals in 2016.

Austin Golden / Junior / Goalkeeper

Golden is coming off a shutout vs Central Baptist College.  He also came through with a huge penalty kick save in the closing minutes to give the Hornets a 2-1 victory over Freed-Hadman.

Sergio Pomajambo/ Sophomore / Midfielder

Pomajambo is coming off a 2 goal performance against CBC.  He has 2 goal and 2 assists on the fall.

 

Key Trojans:

Claudio Rivadeneira/ Freshman / Forward

Rivadeneira leads the Trojans with 7 goals and 8 assists.  His 22 points leads the AMC.

Joaquin Hansen/ Freshman / Goalkeeper

Hansen has recorded 6 shutouts in his 10 starts and has only allowed 9 goals on 47 shots.  He has a 0.809 goals against average.

Isaac Lehmkuhl / Sophomore / Midfielder

Lehmkuhl has 7 goals in 2016 after scoring 6 goals and 2 assists in 2015.

 

Game Notes:

  • Kickoff is set for 3pm at home after the women's game
  • Hornets beat the Trojans on the road last season 1-0 in double overtime
  • Hornets have won 3 of their last 4 AMC contests
