Tonight the Harris-Stowe Hornets Volleyball team beat the Saint Louis College of Pharmacy Eutectics behind a great individual performance of Miaya Peacock.  The Hornets won 3 games to 2 over the Eutectics to give them their first win versus an American Midwest Conference opponent since October 29th, 2008.  The victory moves the Hornets to 3-10 on the season and 1-4 in AMC play.  With the loss STLCOP goes to 1-9 and 1-5 in AMC play.

In a thrilling 5 game set the Eutectics took set number 1 by the score of 25-21.  The Hornets responded by winning the next two sets 25-23 and 25-16.  The Eutectics fought back to win set number four 25-21.  In the deciding set number five the Hornets won a back and forth match and prevailed 15-13 to pick up the victory.

The Hornets had several ladies step up tonight but no one on the court was as dominate as junior Miaya Peacock.  Peacock recorded a Hornets season high 30 kills and also chipped in 19 digs.  The Hornets also had contributions from Kennedy Netters who recorded an AMC season high of 60 assists.  Akilah Thomas contributed 12 digs and Jhameka Lambert-Gully had 18.
