The Hornets dropped both games today at home against American Midwest Conference opponent Freed-Hardeman.  This was the last home game of the season and the Hornets will end the season at Columbia College on Tuesday afternoon.

In Game 1 the Hornets allowed the Freed-Hardeman Lions to bat around and were put in an early 11-0 hole.  The Lions bats stayed hot as they scored 24 runs.  The Hornets only collected 3 hits with 2 coming off the bat of freshman catcher Jenna Vitale.  This was her first multiple hit game of the season.

Game 2 the Hornets were able to get on the board but still fell by the score of 24-3.  Nakeyah Bradford had a hit and scored a run.  Senior Alexis Minner had a hit in her final home game as a Hornet.  Cassidy Williams had a hard hit to leftfield but was stranded on first.

Game Notes:

  • Hornets broke a 13 game shutout with by scoring 2 runs in the 2nd inning of game 2
  • Cassidy Williams and Nakeyah Bradford are separated by 1 hit for team lead
  • Last games of the season will be played at Columbia College. 3pm/5pm start times.
