PARKVILLE, MO- After dropping their first four games of the 2018 season, the Hornets came out with a 1-1 draw with Park University.

The Pirates found the back of the net just 19 minutes into the game when Anikor Emeke found an open Juan Carlos Salazar in the box where he was able to get past HSSU goalie, John Jancewicz (SO/London, England) for a 1-0 lead.

After trailing at the half, HSSU netted their own goal in the 81' when Eric Habonimana (JR/Tanzania) was able to get deep in the box and caught a rebound off Park's goalkeeper, Luis Torres.

Both the Hornets and the Pirates had multiple chances in both overtimes to seal the deal, but neither team was able to connect for another goal and the game ended in a 1-1 tie.

As a team, Harris-Stowe recorded 21 shots, 10 of those being on-goal.

Goalkeeper John Jancewicz recorded 10 saves tonight bringing his season total to 36.

HSSU will be back in action this Saturday when they host the Eagles of Williams Baptist University. Kick-off is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at Hornet Field.
