SAINT LOUIS, MO- The outstanding start to the 2018 season continued for the Hornets today as they defeated the Lady Lions 2-0 in their conference opener.

Rachelle Gray (SO/Belleville, Illinois ) found the back of the net first on a PK. Gray shot it straight at the goalie and got the lucky roll to go off FHU's Erin Douglas in the 78'.

Lyla Rudloff (SO/O'Fallon, Missouri) had the noise-making goal of the game when she headed a ball into the net on a corner net in the 82' to secure the HSSU win.

As a team, Harris-Stowe fired off an impressive 21 shots with 11 of them being on goal. Camila Chaves (SO/Medellin, Colombia) got the start in goal and drew a blank sheet as her defense kept her safe the entire game.

With the win, HSSU moves to 3-0-1 overall, 1-0 in conference play, and the only team in the American Midwest Conference to not have a loss. They will try to keep this up when they travel to Oakland City University this Saturday to face off against the Mighty Oaks. Kick-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT.
